We do our best to be as visible as possible to potential candidates. There are several resources that will keep you updated with our current openings. Like all companies, the careers page on our website is always a good place to start. If you prefer social media, you can check out our LinkedIn page or follow us on Twitter @TechportCareers. Both will have our open opportunities and are great ways to stay updated regularly. Our open positions are also posted on a majority of college and university career portals. Currently, we are on over 20 college career sites in the southeast and mid-Atlantic regions. Other sites include Craigslist.org, Indeed.com, Simplyhired.com, and Glassdoor.com.
Our job openings are posted as soon as the need arises. The postings will be taken down if the position is filled. To keep them as fresh as possible, they are typically updated every one to two weeks on the job boards mentioned above.
A lot of times, candidates have questions before they apply. Asking is easy, pain free and a good way to show your interest in the company. Here are several ways to do so. As you prepare to apply for one of our opportunities, keep in mind that everyone has something different to offer and we want to see what you bring to the table. When preparing your resume, determine how your experiences relate to the position for which you are applying. Do your career goals match-up with the position? Other than the role itself, why do you want to work at Techport? Are there any activities or roles you’ve been a part of that can show us your “soft skills”, like communication, confidence and leadership? These are some of the things we use to help us determine if you will be a fit for the position and our culture.
If you would like to apply for a vacant position, you can do so in several different ways. In this case, all roads lead to Rome. Any path you choose, whether it be our careers page on Techport’s website, LinkedIn, or your college career site, your information will be sent to the same place. Each of these outlets has their own instructions, but all are fairly simple. Upload your documents and include your contact information. Candidates should include a resume, and it is nice to see a cover letter. Every resume that is received is reviewed for content. Keep that in mind, there are many applicants and we cannot contact everyone that does not meet the criteria.
Once you have applied, your resume will be thoroughly reviewed. If your skills and background meet our requirements, then you will be contacted first by email and then phone. The first correspondence will be to setup a phone call. The interview process consists of a phone screening, a face-to-face interview, and typically a second, more in-depth interview. Candidates will be informed of their status as they move through the interview process.
