Techport Thirteen Participates in xMatters' xMovember

Movember is an annual, worldwide event held during the month of November. Its purpose is to raise awareness for men’s mental and physical health, and Techport Thirteen partner, xMatters, has supported this worthy cause over the last few years.

Since xMatters' 2011 campaign was such a success, the cause was taken up again in 2012, but this time xMatters recruited help from its clients and partners. Techport Thirteen was quick to sign up. The xMatters 2012 Movember Network included Techport Thirteen, KingsBridge Disaster Recovery and Intact, with a handful of clients and xMatters employees thrown in.

Those who participate, typically will grow a mustache during the month of November to show their support:

The Movember Effect: Awareness & Education, Survivorship, Research

The funds raised in the US support prostate cancer and testicular cancer initiatives. The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and its men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG Foundation. Together, the three channels work together to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with our strategic goals in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.

Techport Thirteen’s Movember team consisted of Gustavo Garcia, Nick King, Travis DePuy and Christian Nulty. Together, the Techport team raised almost $300. However, the xMatters team overall raised a staggering $11,000! Way to go xMatters team, and let’s see if we can get even more support in 2013!
